Frequently Asked Questions

Why has Databook taken a small charge from my credit or debit card and refunded it?

To verify credit and debit cards, our payment service takes a token amount (e.g. $1, €1 or £1) from a card and then immediately refunds it.

This verification takes place in situations where we are not taking an immediate payment from you (for example, if you are trying Databook for free and still have time left before your subscription starts).

Will my subscription automatically renew?

Yes. If you’ve chosen to pay monthly, your subscription will be renewed each month, unless you choose to cancel it. Similarly, if you’ve chosen to pay annually for your subscription, it will automatically renew at the end of a year.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription by choosing ‘Manage subscription’ in the menu in the Databook app and following the instructions there. You will retain access to Databook for the remainder of the period you have already paid for.

If you are cancelling, please let us know 5 days before the end of your subscription period, so we can make sure that no further payments are taken.
